The Lord is
My Teacher
A Poem by

The Lord is my Teacher and I’m His slow learner.
He leads me through classes I didn’t register for and
through laboratories of faith-growing experiences.
He restores my spirit time and time again as
I struggle through new material.
Even though I walk through dim-lit halls
I will fear no evil because His rod and ruler
Discipline me with love.
He anoints my mind with assurances that I
Can do this as long as I stay His student, and
He will not let me fail the final exam.
Surely there will come an easy lesson one day.
But until it does, I pray to study and stay teachable.
And I will dwell in the classroom of the Lord forever.
